The Bad Batch: Battle of Chances
Celebrating the traditional games that are played in Singapore, this design pays tribute to Aeroplane Chess, a classic Chinese board game commonly played in the 80s featuring Tech, the genius of Clone Force 99 aka The Bad Batch.
Design inspiration: Traditional Games - Aeroplane Chess
Aeroplane Chess is a classic Chinese board game that was popular in Singapore during the 80s. This is our rendition of Aeroplane Chess x The Bad Batch. Featuring Tech as the main character in the middle of the plate, as he has incredible skills with technology and engineering. The plate consists of elements of The Bad Batch like the Clone 99 logo, Galactic Republic logo, Havoc Marauder and some of the weapons that they use. A vintage effect is applied to replicate the print coming off the folded paper of the chess game as well, to bring about a nostalgic impression.
Praetorian Guards: The Perfect Date
For the local themed Chinese New Year edition, this design amalgamates the pull-out Chinese calendar used in Singapore and features The Praetorian Guards along with various elements of Star Wars for the new year of 5 ABY, when the First Order was founded after the fall of the Galactic Empire. The design also mirrors how auspicious vs inauspicious dates are presented on a Chinese calendar.
Design inspiration: Chinese Daily Pull-Out Calendar
For a local themed Chinese New Year edition, this design amalgamated the (weekend) daily pull-out calendar used in Singapore and The Praetorian Guards in a good vs evil context - similar to how auspicious vs inauspicious dates are represented on a Chinese calendar. Infused with Star Wars elements like The Fulminatrix, Snoke's throne room, Galactic Empire and First Order logos as well as the Imperial and First Order Tie/LN starfighters, all set in 5 ABY - when the First Order was founded after the fall of the Galactic Empire.
The Bad Batch: Calculated Wins
Celebrating the traditional games that are played in Singapore, this design pays tribute to the game of Congkak. The boards are handcrafted with beautiful motifs consisting of floral, leaves and dotted patterns and our rendition of Congkak integrates various elements of Star Wars’ The Bad Batch.
Design inspiration: Traditional Games - Congkak
Revisiting the good old days with childhood games of yesteryear, Congkak is a game that has long been an integral part of growing up Singaporean. Congkak boards are handcrafted with beautiful motifs consisting of floral, leaves and dotted patterns. This is our rendition of Congkak with The Bad Batch. The Clone 99 logo, Galactic Republic logo and Havoc Marauder were incorporated seamlessly into the patterns. The number of marbles in the holes represent the troopers' individual CT numbers, as a fun way to tie in to the Clone 99 theme.
The Bad Batch: Skilled Hands
Celebrating the traditional games that are played in Singapore, this design pays tribute to the game of Five Stones, played by using 5 small pyramid-shaped cloth bags filled with love seeds or rice. This design is inspired by the patterns of the cloth bags that represent the various cultures in Singapore and elements of Star Wars’ The Bad Batch.
Design inspiration: Traditional Games - 5 Stones
Back then, families often spend quality time together by playing traditional games like 5 stones. The game embodies the spirit of multiculturism that is integral to Singapore. This is our rendition of 5 stones featuring the 5 troopers from The Bad Batch. These patterns are inspired by the different fabrics used to make 5 stones. Using a mixture of patterns like batik, mandala, Chinese and Peranakan to relate to Singapore's diversity where cultures come together. The weapons are illustrated inside the 5 stones accordingly with the troops. Elements of Star Wars such as the Clone 99 logo and Havoc Marauder are also incorporated into this piece.
